Art Background:I got the picture of Hav from The Source right after "Shook Ones" dropped, which shook the streets heavily. I lived in Cambria Heights for a minute, but any time I saw Queensbridge, it was from afar. I just did a visual sketch of a dude surrounded b the concrete, and what the environment does to a young brown man. It was hell and that was translated perfectly into their music. The dark mood that Shook Ones Part 1 created was universally understood- For all the killers and hundred dolla billers.

Art Background:The much anticipated BlackStar album was in heavy rotation in my CD player. Loved the dual approaches of each man. Talib had that chock full of rhyme type flow while Mos seemed to charismatically ride the rhythm, which complimented each other. Just did a remix of the album cover with baobab tree and collage element topper.

Art Background:These two solidified the high standard in hip, with the DJ and MC having equal stature within the culture. This was just a quick portrait of the two icons. Within the Golden years, DJ Premier was the only  dj/producer that I can honestly say he me buying remixes and records on his name alone. I was not a fan of 2 Short, but I got that "Pop the Trunk" Primo remix cassette in my library. And I heard Guru had attended Morehouse for a minute, so I had to support another brotha with a pen.

Art Background:This piece was just merging a traditional standard of beauty with another kind of beauty. The Statue of David is iconic-I had sketched it numerous times as a shortie in art class. Lauryn Hill represents a timeless beauty old as African art, so I merged her with a head sculpture and the torso of DMX. I also have a GOD complex, thus the female head on a male body.

Art Background: Sometimes artistic inspiration takes you places, but the reasons why can be fleeting. I really can't remember what inspired this piece, but it was Common going at Jayhovah. Im not sure if there was ever any early beef between the two, but had to respect the flow of both MCs.
